1 x whole Ruby grapefruit

½ x fresh lemon

¼ cup hot water

Honey for flavoring (optional)

Sprig of mint (optional)

Blend grapefruit and lemon, until a smooth consistency. In a beautiful teapot, combine the grapefruit/lemon mixture with the hot water to thin out the mixture. Add some honey for sweetness and pour in a teacup. Add a sprig of mint and enjoy your tea.

This tea is best enjoyed before every meal. One grapefruit counts approximately 70 calories and a half a lemon approximately 6 calories. Grapefruit are made up almost entirely of water.  If you feeling dehydrated, a glass of grapefruit is a great choice.

Grapefruit is really helpful in boosting your metabolism and assisting in weight loss. The fruit is high in fiber, which keeps you satiated and can help balance blood sugar levels.

By drinking or eating fresh grapefruit you can support your immune system and potentially even fight off the common cold and other illnesses that strike when your immune system is defenseless and depleted.

Citrus scents are known for being invigorating and stress reducing. If you feel anxious or tired, try taking in the scent of the grapefruit as you squeeze the juice of the fruit into your cup. You might just be surprised how much more alert and happy you feel.
